Terms of use

Last updated July 2026

By installing or using 4789 ("the app"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

4789 does not host, aggregate, index, or distribute media content. All content is accessed from servers the user owns, operates, or has authorised access to. The app is a player and library manager; it displays and plays what the services you connect return.

1. The app is provided "as is"

The app is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability, or that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free. You use the app at your own risk. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developers of 4789 are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or other damages arising from your use of the app.

2. Content is your responsibility

4789 does not supply media. You are solely responsible for the servers, services, and content sources you choose to connect, and for ensuring that you have the lawful right to access, store, and play any content you reach through the app. You are responsible for your own configuration and for the material any connected service returns to your device.

3. Add-on and service developers are responsible for their services

Services and other add-ons compatible with the 4789 Add-on Protocol are operated independently by their own developers and operators. Those developers and operators, not 4789, are solely responsible for the data, availability, legality, and conduct of their services, and for holding any rights necessary to offer them. A separate Add-on Protocol Terms of Use governs anyone who builds or hosts a compatible service. 4789 does not endorse, vet, control, or certify any third-party service, and adding one does not imply any relationship with its operator.

4. Lawful use and compliance

You agree to use the app only for lawful purposes and in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and the terms of the services and APIs you connect, including copyright and intellectual-property law in your jurisdiction. You must not use the app to access, copy, or distribute content you are not authorised to use. You are responsible for determining what is lawful where you are; nothing in the app should be read as advice that any particular use is permitted.

5. Third-party services and trademarks

The app can display metadata from public catalogue APIs, each subject to its own terms. All product names, logos, and trademarks referenced belong to their respective owners and are used for identification only; their use does not imply endorsement.

6. No warranty of availability

Connected services may change, break, or disappear at any time, and the app's ability to reach them depends on those services and on your own configuration. We do not guarantee that any service will remain reachable.

7. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The current version is always posted here. Continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
